Embattled
senatorial candidate of the All Progressives Congress, Senator Magnus
Abe, along with the Rivers State chairman of the party and other party
officials, on Tuesday, July 19, 2016 held a private meeting, with the
INEC chairman, Professor Mahmood Yakubu in Abuja.
The meeting, which ended at about
9:30pm, was called to fine tune plans on how to substitute INEC Staff
with APC card carrying members as election officers and work on the
possibility of postponing the scheduled July 30, supplementary rerun
elections in Rivers State.
This would not be the first time Senator
Magnus Abe would embark on desperate efforts to truncate democracy in
Rivers State and thereby undermine the will of Rivers people.
During the last rerun elections Magnus
Abe was personally responsible for the use of soldiers to invade
communities who killed his own kinsmen.
This is supposed to be an election. This
is supposed to be the expression of the will of the people. This
election has been continuously postponed and declared inconclusive just
because Magnus has not been elected. A man that is unpopular cannot be
foisted on his constituents. It would never happen!
