A photo of Godgift Azubuike, a Nigerian
man who is ‘checking out’ till the main opposition party in the country
“comes back to power has gone viral.
Azubuike posted the photos on his
Facebook page with the caption. “Please I am leaving the country for
good. This change is not what I voted for. Please call me when PDP takes
over [power].”
The photo, which has been shared close
to 5,000 times, shows Azubuike also carrying his ‘belongings’ in a bag
popularly called Ghana-must-go and two other bags.
From all indication, this is a protest
statement over the hardship that has gripped the nation since President
Muhammadu Buhari came to power.
While Nigeria’s finance minister, Mrs Kemi Adeosun, was reported
to have admitted that the government anticipated the recession, she
said the federal government had never anticipated its effects on
Nigerians.
With the price on food items rising to incredible heights, we can only ask ourselves what hope lies ahead.
