Two brothers who incurred debt in a popular Lagos hotel and are unable to pay up have been arraigned in court. Two brothers, Francis Ebot and his brother, Marcel have been arrested and remanded in prison after they lodged in a Lagos popular hotel and incurred N1m debt and were unable to pay.

They were charged before a Lagos court for the alleged offence by obtaining credit facility under false pretence.

The incident happened at Diplomat Hotel located at Oduduwa Way in Ikeja, Lagos.

P.M.EXPRESS gathered that the suspects lodged in the hotel and convinced the hotel management to grant them credit facility and promised to pay on a later date. It was gathered that they took exotic drinks, food, brought women and were using all the available hotel facilities they needed for their enjoyment.

However, when the time they promised to pay the debt elapsed and the management requested for the money, they replied that they had no money to pay. They were then handed over to the police at Ikeja Division for the alleged fraud.

At the station, P.M.EXPRESS gathered they admitted owing such money and informed the police that they were unable to get the money they had expected.

They were charged before Ikeja Magistrates court for fraud under the Criminal Code.

They pleaded not guilty.

The presiding Magistrate, Mrs B.O. Osunsanmi granted them bail in the sum of N300,000 each with two sureties in like sum.

They were remanded in prison custody pending when they will perfect their bail condition.

The matter was adjourned till 3rd of August 2017.
