Nigerian Air Force (NAF) on Friday said it took delivery of the first batch of five out of 10 Super Mushshak aircraft expected from Pakistan.
Air Commodore Olatokunbo Adesanya, the Director, Public Relations and Information, NAF Headquarters, disclosed this in a statement in Abuja.
Adesanya stated that “the delivery followed the kind gesture of the Pakistan Government to temporarily make four Super Mushshak aircraft of the Pakistan Air Force available to NAF free”.
He said that the aircraft, which were received by AVM Chris Okoye, the Air Officer Commanding Air Training Command, were for training of NAF pilots.
He explained that they were the first batch of trainer aircraft for primary flying training of NAF pilots at 401 Flying Training School, Kaduna.
Adesanya stated that NAF inducted the Super Mushshak aircraft into NAF inventory on Dec. 5, 2016.
He said “with the arrival of the first batch of NAF trainer aircraft, local training of student pilots’ would receive a boost at a much reduced cost.”
According to him the new aircraft will soon be inducted into service after assembling and successful test flights.
