The Senator -elect for Okigwe North
Senatorial District, Imo State, Ben Uwajumogu, on Thursday described as
speculation reports that he was elected to upstage Deputy Senate
President, Ike Ekeremadu.
The All Progressives Congress (APC) Senator-elect said he was not coming to the upper legislative chamber to take anybody’s job.
Uwajumogu, who spoke on his victory at the rerun election, said the insinuation that he was after Ekweremadu’s job was wishful thinking.
The Senator wondered how he could achieve the feat since he is a first timer in the Senate.
He noted that the insinuation that he was coming to the Senate to upstage Ekweremadu was likely to create acrimony between him and the leadership of the Senate.
The former Speaker of Imo State House of Assembly said he was
prepared to work harmoniously with the leadership of the Senate in line
with APC guidelines and directives.
