WW3 threat as NATO puts 300,000 troops on high alert to combat Putin
NATO chiefs issued an ultimatum to Russia last month promising to respond with deadly military force if the superpower will not decrease tensions.
Now more than 300,000 troops from the allied nations, including Britain, have been put on high alert to deter the threat from Moscow.

Secretary General of NATO, Jens Stoltenberg, said it was the largest NATO military response since the end of the Cold War.
According to NATO bosses, the hundreds of thousands of combat-ready troops will have the ability to be deployed within just two months.
But ever worsening relations with Russia and the fear of a global conflict have forced allied officials to try speeding up the process of deployment.
Mr Stoltenberg said: “We are…addressing what we call the follow-on forces.
“There are a large number of people in the armed forces of Nato allies. We are looking into how more of them can be ready on a shorter notice.”
An emergency response force has already been set up involving 5,000 ground troops, backed by air, sea and special forced, which will be able to mobilise within five days.
Despite NATO’s efforts to cut it’s military defence budget since the end of the Cold War, Russia has responded but holding massive military exercises in recent months.
Putin has been at loggerheads with the US-led military alliance for months as tensions flared over Syria, Crimea and the Baltic.
The preparation of NATO armed forces comes after claims Russia has been conducting cyber attacks on Washington and holding nuclear war drills.
It also comes mere hours before the United States holds their general elections, with Putin backing Russia-friendly Donald Trump.
Top military experts have warned that if Donald Trump is elected president, Russia will be able to crush NATO, leaving eastern Europe open to invasion.
Fear over Putin’s military movements have increased over the last week after Russian super-stealth attack submarines were spotted off the British coast, less than a month after a war fleet passed through the English Channel in a chilling show of force.
Britain has pledged to bolster its navy might by launching a £1.9billion programme by building a fleet of new steel Type 26 anti-submarine frigates.
