The development shows that President Yahya Jammeh, who refused to recognise his loss in December 1 election, is becoming more isolated.
Earlier, ministers of trade, foreign affairs, finance, environment and sport resigned.
Recall that Gambia’s Chief Judge pulled out of Jammeh’s suit seeking to stop inauguration of Adama Barrow as president.
Barrow, who is scheduled to be sworn in as president on Thursday, fled Gambia to the Senegalese capital, Dakar, amid fears of violence.
Meanwhile, ECOWAS has pledged to send troops to ensure a peaceful transition of power.
