Horror: the helicopter crashed at a Charlottesville golf course

 

A police helicopter carrying some officers in it, has crashed into a golf course, leaving devastation behind. According to a Daily Star UK report, two Virginia police officers were killed after a helicopter crashed onto a golf course in Charlottesville as protesters clashed in the streets below.

 

Virginia Police confirmed Lt H. Jay Cullen and pilot Berke Bates died when the aircraft crashed in a wooded area surrounding the course.

 

Horrifying video taken from the golf course recorded thick black smoke rising from the nearby crash site.

 

In the same clip a helicopter can also be seen hovering close to the wooded area.

 

The tragedy comes after white supremacists descended on the city and brawled white anti-facist groups.

 

Dramatic footage was released earlier today that showed a car as it ploughed into protesters in one of the town’s main streets – killing a 32-year-old woman and injuring 19 others.

Charlottesville Police chief Al Tomas said the death is being treated as a homicide and that the suspect is in custody.

 

The victim’s identity is being withheld until her family have been notified.

 

Far-right nationalists took to the streets in the Virginian city to argue that white history was being erased from America's identity.

 

Men wearing Ku Klux Klan branded uniforms carried shields and rifles as they marched towards anti-racist protesters.

 

Other footage seen by the Daily Star Online showed chemical sprays and smoke bombs being used.

 

US President Donald Trump took to Twitter as violence unfolded on the streets of the Virginian city.

 

He wrote: "We all must be united and condemn all that hate stands for. There is no place for this kind of violence in America. Let's come together as one."

 

Virginia Police arrested James Alex Fields Jr in connection with the ram attack.
