A young, beautiful lady has been found dead inside a hotel walk-in freezer, after spending the night partying. The lifeless body of Kenneka Jenkins, a teenage girl, was found in a
hotel's walk-in freezer - hours after she wandered away from her
friend's party, cops have said.
According to The Sun UK, the 19-year-old lady was found dead at the
Crowne Plaza Hotel in Rosemont, a suburb northwest of Chicago in the
early hours of Sunday morning.
Jenkins was last seen on the ninth floor at 1.30am on Saturday -
around the same time she last used her phone to text her sister.
She was later reported as missing in the afternoon when her horrified friends insisted they could not find her.
According to the young girl's mum, Tereasa Martin, police said
Jenkins had let herself into the freezer while drunk, and died inside.
But she questioned their claims, insisting her daughter would have struggled to open the freezer door if she was drunk.
Ms Martin added: "Those were double steel doors, she didn't just pop them open."
Although an autopsy has been performed, it has not yet been made clear if she died also because of foul play.
Responding to the incident, the hotel told ABC7 Chicago: "The
Crowne Plaza Chicago O'Hare Hotel and Conference Centre holds the
safety, security and well-being of our guests and employees as our top
priority and concern.
"We are saddened by this news, and our thoughts are with the young woman and her family during this difficult time.
"The hotel staff will continue to operate fully with local authorities.
"All further questions should be directed to the Rosemont Police Department."
