The traders expressed their determination to remain in their present location despite alleged intimidation by Ikeja Local Council to stop any form of meeting in the market. “We have the right of association, which include holding meetings to deliberate on the way forward for the market.
“We were told we could no longer hold meetings in the market except we get the approval of the Iyaloja, Mrs. Elizabeth Adenuga.
As it stands today, Mrs. Adenuga cannot pilot the affairs of the market because she has betrayed us, she no longer fights for our interest,” said Mrs. Oluwatosin, spokesperson of the concerned Alade Market traders.
