The federal government has formally terminated the appointments of directors-general of about six agencies under the ministry of Information and Culture, confirming THISDAY’s exclusive report Monday that about 35 heads of parastatals will be relieved of their positions this week.
The Minister of Information and Culture, Alhaji Lai Mohammed, announced the disengagement Monday during a meeting he held with the chief executives of the agencies.
According to a statement signed by the special adviser to the minister, Mr. Segun Adeyemi, Muhammed directed the disengaged chief executives to hand over to the most senior officials in their various establishments.
“The affected chief executives are the directors-general of the Nigerian Television Authority (NTA), Mr. Sola Omole; Federal Radio Corporation of Nigeria (FRCN), Mr. Ladan Salihu; Voice of Nigeria (VON) Mr Sam Worlu; National Orientation Agency (NOA) , Mr. Mike Omeri; National Broadcasting Commission (NBC), Mr. Emeka Mba; and the Managing Director of the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) Mr. Ima Niboro.
