President Muhammadu Buhari has appointed Mr Ibrahim Idris Kpotum as the new Inspector General of Police.
He replaces Mr Solomon Arase who retired on Tuesday.
Arase accompanied the new IG to the president’s office when the appointment was made.
Prior to his appointment, Idris was Assistant Inspector General of Police in charge of Operations.
