Mohammed filed the fundamental human right suit which has been fixed for hearing on November 24 before the Federal High Court Abuja.
The former minister stated in the affidavit that he was invited by the anti-graft agency on October 24 for investigations into alleged “cases of conspiracy, abuse of office and money laundering.”
According to him, he voluntarily reported to the EFCC but has been detained till date.
Mohammed also stated that “he has suffered substantial deterioration of his health and untold psychological trauma and mental torture” in detention.
He prayed the court to order the EFCC to release him on bail and charge him to a court.
He further sought a declaration that his arrest and detention his arrest and detention “since October 24, 2016 till date by the EFCC is illegal, unlawful, unreasonable, unjustified and unconstitutional.”
Mohammed demanded N100m as damages for his unconstitutional detention.
