Former Minister of Foreign Affairs, Bagudu Hirse kidnapped

Gunmen have abducted a former Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, Amb. Bagudu Hirse.
A family source told DAILY POST that the former Minister was in the house of Mamman Daura in Kaduna when the incident occured.

Hirse was allegedly mistaken for Daura, an associate of President Muhammadu Bihari.

The source said, “He was at Mamman Daura’s residence. He was mistaken for Daura and was abducted by the gunmen in the early hours of Sunday.

“As I speak, we don’t know his whereabouts and his mobile number cannot be reached. And nobody has called to even say he is in their custody.”
The source appealed to security operatives to ensure that the former Minister is released unharmed.
“You know he is an elderly man, we pray that he will be released unharmed. We we are appealing to security agencies to step up their action in making sure he is freed”.
