Eyitayo Jegede, the candidate of the People’s Democratic Party, PDP, has cast his vote for himself in the on-going governorship elections in Ondo State.

Jegede, a senior advocate of Nigeria, cast his vote at about 10.46am alongside his wife, Eno, without incident at his polling unit in Akure, the state capital.
After voting, the governorship hopeful spoke with members of the press alleged that plans were ongoing to disenfranchise his supporters and urged his supporters not to leave their polling units after voting but to wait and make sure that their votes are counted.
After casting his votes, Jegede and his wife sat at the polling unit while acknowledging cheers from the voters.
“Some have been in the queue for three hours in different parts of the state and they have not been able to vote. INEC should not disenfranchise our voters,” Jegede said.
“After voting, don’t leave your polling units. I too will not leave until the votes are counted.
“By the grace of God, I will be victorious.”
