The Federal Govern­ment has inaugurated a N700 million govern­ment contact centre in Abuja to boost ease of doing business through technological innova­tions and information dissem­ination.
The Minister of Communications, Adebayo Shittu who inaugurated the platform in Abuja said the platform would aid create job opportunities and a turn around to the coun­try’s economy.
“The Centre is essentially a technology-enabled multi-channel and multi-lingual platform developed to im­prove accessibility to govern­ment services and informa­tion by interested parties.
“This robust platform pres­ents citizens and interested stakeholders with an avenue to obtain information or pro­vide feedback to government MDAs (Ministries, Depart­ments, and Agencies). It also provides access to services via telephone (in Hausa, Igbo, Yo­ruba, English and pidgin. Oth­er languages can be incorpo­rated subsequently) email, chat, and social media),” the minister said.
Shittu said all the federal agencies and parastatals would key into the platform when it becomes fully operational, and that service delivery and per­formances of MDAs would be monitored through the system in conjunction with SERVI­COM, adding that the Centre has all the parastatals under the Ministry of Communica­tions, with Power and Avia­tion keying into the platforms.
