If Mourinho were made of chocolate, he would eat himself – Tommy Docherty

A former Manchester United coach, Tommy Docherty has claimed that if current manager, Jose Mourinho “were made of chocolate he would eat himself.”
He also criticised the club’s transfer dealings, which saw them pay a record fee for France international Paul Pogba last summer.

Docherty has seen Mourinho turn fortunes around at Old Trafford over recent weeks to claim six successive Premier League victories.
He is, however, not a fan of the coach – a man who has reveled in his role as a self-proclaimed ‘Special One’ down the years.
Docherty told the Evening Times, “Jose Mourinho? He’s done okay but if he were made of chocolate he would eat himself.”
United’s return to form has been aided by the performances of £89 million man Pogba, but his arrival – four years after the Red Devils collected just £800,000 in compensation as he left for Juventus at the end of his contract – has been questioned by Docherty.
He added, “Look at the money he’s [Mourinho] spent

“Fergie sold Pogba for about a million quid and they then paid about 900 million [sic] to get him back.
“That was good business, wasn’t it?”
Docherty clearly endures a strained relationship with a club he managed between 1972 and 1977, with the 88-year-old Scot admitting that he is now more likely to be seen at Stamford Bridge or the Etihad Stadium than Old Trafford.
He said, “Chelsea have sent me a Christmas hamper from Harrods for the last 18 years that must cost around £300.
“That’s a terrific gesture and I still go to Stamford Bridge to watch them about four times a year. So there are big clubs that act like big clubs, and some that act like small clubs.
“I won’t be back at United after them charging me for my tickets about three years ago. I got an invoice for £88 for two seats so that was it for me.
“If I fancy a game locally I’ll phone up Mike Summerbee at City and they always look after me. But I’m done with United.”
