NIMASA Redeploys Eight Directors

Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency (NIMASA), yesterday redeployed some of its senior management staff to various departments at the head office, eastern and western offices.

The deployment was approved by the Director General of the agency, Dr. Dakuku Peterside, following the recent promotion, which led to the elevation of eight deputy directors to directors, 15 assistant directors to deputy directors and 56 grades level 14 officers to assistant directors.
The director general noted that the new postings were expected to reposition the agency towards meeting its statutory mandate as enshrined in the NIMASA Act and other enabling instruments.
According to the statement signed by the Director, Corporate Communications, Hajia Lami Tumaka, the redeployment had Mr. Ibrahim Jibril, as the director, strategic management in the Office of the Director General, Hajia Lami Tumaka, who was the former head, Corporate Communications as the director, special duties also in the director general’s office.
Also, Mr. Abiodun Akinyosoye was asked to take over as the director of administration and human resources, while Mrs. Aishatu Jumai Musa is the director, planning research and data management services department. Mr. Audu Abdulsalam became the director, legal services.
Others are Mr. Hassan El-Yakub, director, NIMASA Eastern Zone and Mr. Olayemi Abass, director, Western Zone; Mr. Anthony Ogadi, head, shipping development and Engr. Abel Femowei, coordinator, Central Zone, Warri; Captain Sunday Umoren, head, maritime safety and seafarers standards department and Mr. Isichei Ogamgbi, head, corporate communications.
Already, Peterside had at several fora reiterated the commitment of the agency to the repositioning and restructuring of NIMASA for greater efficiency and productivity.
