Gov. Obiano pledges continuous support for Nigerian Army

Gov. Willie Obiano of Anambra has pledged continuous working relationship and support for the Nigerian Army to sustain the security of lives and property in the state.
 
Obiano gave the assurance on Friday while inaugurating five projects at the Onitsha Military Cantonment, Onitsha.
 
He said the Nigerian Army had helped in reducing crime in the state.
 
He assured that the welfare of men and officers of the Nigerian army serving in the state would remain paramount to his administration.
 
The projects inaugurated by the governor include; a reconstructed military cantonment guard room, palm garden, lawn tennis, arms store and a morgue.
 
Earlier, the General Officer Commanding (GOC), 82 Division Enugu, Maj.-Gen. Adamu Abubakar, described the projects as “dividends of democracy”.
 
He commended Gov. Obiano for the support, saying that the road network in the Onitsha cantonment was one of the best in the country.
 
Also speaking, the Commander, 302 Artillery Regiment, Onitsha, Col. Isa Abdullahi, said the projects would impact on the lives of officers, men and areas affecting administration and environment.
 
“This will ensure that officers and men are in the right state of mind to perform their duties of securing the state and the country,” Abdullahi said.
 
The projects were executed by Abdullahi and Lt. Col. Abubakar Saleh, Commanding Officer, 14 Field Engineering Regiment, Onitsha.
