We never protested against Buhari – Nigerians in UK

Some Nigerians in the United Kingdom, UK have denied protesting against President Muhammadu Buhari.

This is coming days after news made the rounds that some Nigerians, under the aegis of the UK chapter of the Nigerians in Diaspora Monitoring Group, NDMG, stormed the Nigerian High Commission, demanding to see President Buhari, who they said must addresses them in person.

But the group in a statement dismissed the report, saying some mischievous Nigerians in the UK were working towards recruiting uniformed persons who would embarrass the Nigerian government.
In the statement signed by the UK coordinator of the group, Adeka Onyilo, NDMG said these individuals were aimed at tainting the image of the anti-corruption fight of President Buhari in Nigeria.
“Some mischievous Nigerians in the UK are working towards recruiting uniformed persons who would embarrass the Nigerian government.
“These Nigerians also hope to use the recruits gathered for anti-corruption crusade that could help corrupt individuals escape justice in Nigeria.

“No member of the NDMG or any other group to the best of his knowledge staged a protest in the UK.
“The group has confirmed that Mr. President is not in any critical condition and that calls for Nigerians not to worry.
“The NDMG believes in and will continue to identify with the laudable achievements of President Buhari especially in the areas of fighting corruption and defeating Boko Haram terrorism and routing the group from Nigeria’s soil.”
