“The dog was quickly pulled from the structure not breathing and without a pulse."
The dog's owner Crystal Lamirande said:
“His eyes were glazed over and he was not breathing and I assumed he was dead."Fireman Andrew Klein stepped in to save the day.
Photos and video from the scene show Klein giving the dog mouth-to-mouth as other firefighters assisted and one held a special pet-sized oxygen mask over the dog’s snout. Twenty minutes later , Nalu was revived. Klein said:
“He was totally lifeless. I picked him up and ran out of the apartment because time is key, especially with a small dog ... Failure was not an option.”Nalu was back to its frisky self after 24 hours in an oxygen chamber.
