Former governor of the now defunct Western State of Nigeria, Major General Adeyinka Adebayo dies at 89

Robert Adeyinka Adebayo was the former governor of the now defunct Western State of Nigeria, 1966–1971. And one of the founders/Vice Chairman of the National Party of Nigeria (NPN) (1979 -1983), Alliance for Democracy. His eldest son Otunba Niyi Adebayo was a governor of Ekiti State from 1999 to 2003.

He died this morning at the age of 89. May his soul rest in peace, amen.
