The Kogi state government today ordered the destruction of a one-storey
building owned by one Alhaji Tijanni Bakare, a self confessed kidnapping
syndicate ringleader. Bakare who was recently apprehended by the police, confessed to being the
ring leader of a gang that has terrorized residents of Kogi state and
travelers along the state roads. The police raided the house after his confession and discovered IEDs, guns and ammunition.
The
operation to cleanse Kogi State of kidnappers and terrorists is alive
and well. Governor Yahaya Bello personally supervised the demolition of
buildings used for crimes against the people. As charity begins at home,
the Governor chose to start the purge in his home city of Okene.
