Former Aviation Minister, Femi Fani-Kayode has lashed out at Acting
President Yemi Osinbajo, for not attending the 51st ECOWAS Summit of
Heads of State and Government, which took place on Saturday.
The summit was held in Liberia’s capital, Monrovia, with Israeli Prime Minister, Benjamin Netanyahu, in attendance.
Netanyahu is the first non-African leader invited to address the ECOWAS leaders.
There has been no official statement from Nigeria’s presidency, as to why the country was not represented at the meeting.
“It is wrong that @ProfOsinbajo did not attend the ECOWAS Heads of
State meeting with @netanyahu today. Nigeria not there. Sad and
shameful,” Fani-Kayode tweeted.
Former president Olusegun Obasanjo was, however, in attendance. It was not certain if he was there to represent Nigeria.
