The controversial Philippines leader asked Chelsea: “What was your reaction when your father was making love to Monica Lewinsky?”
The president popularly known as “Duterte Harry” for his hardline approach to the country’s drug problem was trying to defend a ‘joke’ he made about his soldiers being allowed to RAPE up to three women each.
Former First Daughter Chelsea had joined a chorus of condemnation over the statement, tweeting: “Not funny. Ever.”
Trying to deflect attention from his comments, Duterte said: ”I do not laugh at my own jokes.
“I will tell her, when your father, the President of the United then was screwing Lewinsky and the girls there in the White House, how did you feel?
“Did you slam your father?”
“So you Americans, like Chelsea, be careful because you live in a glass house. I repeat. When President Clinton was having an affair with Lewinsky, what was your statement or your reaction?”
He has also been a vocal support of Donald Trump.
Despite his brutal style of leadership, it failed to stop the U.S. leader from praising him during a phone call in April.
“You are a good man,” Trump told Duterte, according to an official transcript of the April 29 call produced by the Philippine Department of Foreign Affairs.
“Keep up the good work,” Trump told the Philippine leader.
“You are doing an amazing job.”
Duterte’s attack on Chelsea Clinton came as it emerged Trump has been handing out his personnel mobile number to world leaders inviting them to call him direct.
Such communications break longstanding diplomatic protocol and could make Trump’s calls prone to foreign surveillance, according to national security experts.
So far only Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau has taken Trump on his offer and called his mobile, instead of contacting the President through secure lines in the White House.
