A family which was about to bury their son who had just died, have been stopped by furious villagers who stormed their abode.
A grave was dug to bury the boy
An attempt by a couple to secretly bury their eight-year-old child flopped after they were busted by neighbours, SDE reports.
In a shocking incident in Gitaro village, Kenya, the family, "known for its strange religious beliefs", had already dug a grave to bury their son when neighbours stormed and stopped the rites.
The son, who had complained of a serious stomach-ache, had died
minutes earlier and the family decided to bury him without informing
other relatives, neighbours and authorities. Even after being confronted
by neighbours, the family declined to move the body to mortuary citing
religious beliefs.
In a bid to cover up what they were upto, the boy's parents bought a
coffin in Murang'a town and dug a grave ready for the burial.
Police from Kahuro police station were alerted and they stopped the burial.
They collected the body and moved it to the morgue for a postmortem.
