Dino Melaye: What Saraki said about Senator’s recall

The President of the Saraki, Bukola Saraki on Tuesday said those seeking to recall senator from Kogi West, Dino Melaye are wasting their time.
He said efforts to recall Melaye should have gone into more “important things”.

Speaking in the floor of the Upper Legislative Chambers, Saraki said: “as they say, 10 years is no joke in leadership. The deputy president of the senate has explained the processes. Let the process speak for itself.
“I really don’t know why a lot of efforts are being wasted on this issue.
“These efforts should have gone on more important things. Eventually, it must come back here for us to certify whether it is satisfactory.”

Recall that some aggrieved people from Melaye’s constituents had submitted a petition to the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, seeking his recall from the senate.
Upon acceptance of the petition, INEC had written to Melaye informing him that the process of his recall will start today.
Melaye, however, dismissed claims by the Commission, saying he has not been informed about his planned recall from the Senate.
