Ekiti: Governor Fayose Sacks Commissioners

In one fell swoop, ever vocal Peoples Democratic Party chieftain, Governor Ayodele Fayose of Ekiti State has sacked his entire cabinet.

Ekiti State Governor, Ayodele Fayose, has directed the immediate dissolution of the State Executive Council.

This was disclosed in a terse statement signed and made available to journalists in Ado Ekiti by his Special Assistant on Public Communications and New Media, Lere Olayinka.

The statement said, “All the former Commissioners are directed to hand over to the Permanent Secretaries of their respective ministeries.

“The governor thanked the former commissioners for their service to the State and wished them well in their future endeavours.”
 

The statement did not disclose reasons for the sacking of the commissioners.

 

It would be recalled that Fayose's counterparts in Governor Nyesom Wike of Rivers State, Governor Rochas Okorocha of Imo State and Governor Okezie Ikpeazu of Abia State also dissolved their cabinet earlier in a manner that suggests a power rotation formula so that all quarters can be pleased in the area of political appointments.
