According to a short statement sent to its customers early Sunday, EKEDC said some of its own offices too have been flooded.
“Dear Customer, we apologize for the electricity outage you are experiencing. This is a safety measure due to the current floods experienced at some of our stations”, the company said.
Many areas have not had electricity for five days since the rains began falling almost ceaselessly in the city since last week.
It also still rained overnight on Sunday.
The Lagos State Police Command on Saturday declared Ahmadu Bello Way a forbidden zone because of the flooding of the area.
The NIgerian Television Authority, which also operates from the road has also shut its offices till Monday, hoping the water would have cleared.
