Less than three weeks after armed men abducted wife of a staff of
Seplat Petroleum Development Company Ltd., spouse of another staff of
the company, Chief Anthony Owumi, was has been kidnapped at their
residence, near Amukpe market, Sapele.
Seplat is a Delta State-based oil firm.
Mrs Sussan Owumi was kidnapped by a five-man gang Sunday morning in
front of her house as they prepared to make their way to morning church
service at the Living Faith Church, aka, Winners Chapel, located at
Crudas Road, Sapele.
The kidnappers shot several times into the air to scare people away
before zooming off with the victim’s black Mercedes 4matic car.
Vanguard reports that the kidnappers, however, released the victim’s
son and one of her male tenants and his two kids, before zooming off
with her.
Owumi, the victim’s husband, was said to have travelled the previous
day to Port Harcourt, the Rivers State capital, on official duty.
No contact has been established with the kidnappers as at press time, while the police say investigation has commenced.
