Walmart comes under fire over "Back-to-School" sign on gun display

Walmart is under fire after a photo was taken of a gun display with a back-to-school sign on top.
The sign which read "Own the School Year Like a Hero" was placed above a glass case of guns. A Twitter user named Anthony tweeted the photo with the caption "Explain this @Walmart" and it quickly went viral with a lot of people calling out the retailing corporation.
Piers Morgan who is very vocal about gun control also weighed in on the situation.

''Walmart and folks are outraged."

Walmart quickly went into damage control, apologizing for the error and promised to look into it. 

"What’s seen in this photograph would never be acceptable in our stores," a Walmart spokesperson said in a statement. "We regret this situation and are looking into how it could have happened."

Walmart said it remains unclear whether the sign was placed there by an employee or by a shopper but they promised to find the exaction location of the store where the mistake was made and rectify it.
