Governor of Kaduna State, Nasir El-Rufai
Governor Nasir el-Rufai of Kaduna State has revealed that President
Muhammadu Buhari was warned not to appoint Aisha Alhassan as a minister
but he refused.
This comes after Alhassan pledged loyalty to former Vice President Atiku Abubakar.
El-Rufai lambasted the Minister of Women Affairs for being disloyal
to the President, adding that she was never a Buhari supporter but a
loyalist of former Vice-President Atiku Abubakar, according to a report
by Punch.
Speaking further to State House Correspondents at the Villa on
Friday, El-Rufai said Alhassan did not also vote for Buhari during the
APC presidential primary.
He advised Nigerians not to be surprised or shocked at her
outburst. He added that as a person, she has the right to express her
political views but the decision to retain or sack her lies with the
President.
He, however, said her retention or otherwise as a cabinet minister should be at the discretion of the President.
