A heartbroken couple are facing a Christmas filled with yet more grief after losing three children and their unborn grandchild in the space of three years.

Keith and Elaine Llewellyn lost Keith’s 25-year-old son Dai just last week when he was found dead at his home in Bridgend, South Wales, On December 8.

It comes just weeks after Elaine's daughter Jessica Cowdery died suddenly, aged 26, on November 22.

Elaine lost another daughter, Amy, 26, and her unborn child when she died of natural causes at three-and-a-half months pregnant in 2014.

Dai Llewellyn was found dead less than a month later

The couple have been married 15 years and now face a heartbreaking Christmas without their three beloved children.

Keith, from Caerau, described Dai as someone who “loved life too much”.

He told Wales Online: “Dai was troubled. He had low esteem of himself. But he was brought up to have a lot of care for people in his life.

“In the last month or two it seems to have been a lot worse for him and when Jess passed away it ruined him.

“Jessica was fun-loving (a) party animal and again she was so troubled as well. You knew that if the phone rang at 3am you would have to say ‘hello Jessica’ or ‘hello David’.

"It has torn my wife apart. I could never feel how she felt but now since it’s happened to me I can’t understand how she’s been so strong for me."

Mr and Mrs Llewellyn have 13 grandchildren between them and say their “very close family” will be there to support each other this Christmas.

South Wales Police said neither David or Jessica’s deaths are being treated as suspicious.

Their funerals are set to be held in the coming weeks.

Crowdfunding campaigns have been launched to help both Dai and Jessica's families with the funeral costs.
