Alhaji Atiku Abubakar make A 5-point to President Muhammadu Buhari-led federal government.
This demand was presented during a
meeting with a delegation led by the former head of state and chairman
of the National Peace Committee (NPC).
The former vice president presented his demands to the president , General Abdulsalam Abubakar (rtd), as Vanguard reports.
Which are as follows:
1. Unfreezing of bank accounts belonging to opposition politicians.
2. Demilitarization of subsequent elections.
3. Accreditation of voters before voting in subsequent elections.
4. INEC should open its back end server to all participating parties.
5. Release of all politicians detained illegally by the federal government.
While speaking, Atiku stated that the
February 23 elections were the worst in the country since the return to
democratic rule as the exercise was marred by brazen rigging with no
consideration to the will of the people.
He said the deployment of military is
unconstitutional which was in breach of a Supreme Court judgement,
Malpractice between INEC officials, the ruling party and the military to
undermine the votes/voters of the PDP, Collaboration between the
federal government and INEC to undermine the sanctity of the votes of
the people which shows that there was no improvement from 2015.
