Woman in shock seeing her mother-in-law wearing a wedding gown at her wedding

An author has told of her shock when, on her wedding day, she saw her mother-in-law arrive looking like the bride, dressed in a wedding gown and bridal updo.

Amy Pennza shared the tweet as a contribution to Jimmy Fallon's thread on #WeddingFail.

She said she was so upset about her mother-in-law's choice of outfit that she had her fists clenched in anger. But she didn't react negatvely.

Twitter users criticized the mother-in-law. Some said the bridesmaids should have "accidentally" poured wine on the mother-in-law's dress.

But Amy letter did a thread to explain why her mother-in-law dressed as a bride. She also pointed out that she and her MIL are so close and listed all the ways the older woman has been kind to her and her children.
