I Can Give Teddy A My Kidney - Bam Bam

I Can Give Teddy A My Kidney - Bam Bam
Former Big Brother Naija housemate, Bamike Olawumi, aka Bam Bam has declared total love for Teddy A.

The reality star made this known in a chat with Saturday Beats.

Olawunmi noted that she already had peace about her relationship with Teddy A before the reunion show. However, the lie detector test further influenced the level of peace she had about their love affair.

“Honestly, there is no relationship without its ups and downs or doubts; but that was a lie detector test; you can never know what is in the heart of anybody.

“I trust him with my life; I would give my left kidney or any other double organ I have to him. But you still have your shaky phase whether you like it or not.

“I wasn’t sure of what the lie detector test was going to say irrespective of how our relationship has been. When the answer came as positive, it influenced the peace I already have; it gave me more peace.

“I would advise the new big brother housemates not to try to imitate any of the old housemates. They should be themselves.

“I enjoyed myself in the house until people started stressing me about being fake. Even though I never knew where my relationship with Teddy A was going; I knew that I liked him and being with him gave me peace.

“I am someone who lives in the moment. I was consistent from the beginning to the end of the show,” she said.

Olawunmi who is known for being stylish and elegant, was recently gifted with a car by her fans to celebrate her 30th birthday. The news about the car gift went viral and she received a backlash from some celebrities speculating that the presentation of the birthday gift was staged.

“I was blown away when my fans presented a car to me on my birthday. I have always loved that brand of car because it is easy to maintain.

“I feel honoured that they put their monies together to get that for me. Contrary to rumours making the rounds that they were about 300 of them who contributed money, the fans who bought me that car were not even up to 10. It was just a few of them who have money that decided to sacrifice their cash to buy me the car.

“People will always talk; they are entitled to their opinions. I don’t get offended by opinions and speculations because they don’t know me personally.

“Propaganda sells, so when it sounds like a lie and exaggerated, they tend to believe it as the truth.

“I am usually fascinated and entertained by all these drama and speculations than being offended,” she said.

She further spoke about the reason behind her calm nature and why she was a symbol of peace at the Big Brother reunion.

“I have always been a peacemaker because the Bible says we should follow peace with all men.

“I am always restless till I make peace with the people around me. I don’t compromise my peace for anything in the world.

“Being classy is a combination of my upbringing and environment. I always like to look comfortable and elegant,” she added.

Los Angeles lights up City Hall with Batman signal

Los Angeles lights up City Hall with Batman signal
The Batman “Bat-signal” is projected onto Los Angeles City Hall in a tribute to the late actor Adam West, June 15, 2017, in Los Angeles, California. West, who portrayed Batman in the classic 1966-68 TV series of the same name, died on June 9 at the age of 88. The Bat-signal was used in the television show when the fictitious Gotham City Police Department needed to summon the superhero. Robyn Beck / AFP
A giant Bat-signal lit up the side of City Hall in Los Angeles Thursday night to honor Batman actor Adam West, who played the superhero role in the 1960s television series.
He died on Friday at age 88 following a battle with leukemia.
The caped crusader helped protect the fictional Gotham City in a franchise that began as a DC Comics strip before also moving to television and film.
When Gotham’s authorities needed Batman’s help, they projected a light beam with his logo into the sky.
Los Angeles Mayor Eric Garcetti and police chief Charlie Beck led Thursday’s tribute.
Hundreds of fans thronged the ceremony, many dressed up in costumes from the television series and films.
Two replicas of the 1960s-era Batmobile were parked outside the building.
Burt Ward, 71, who played Batman’s sidekick Robin on the show, also took part.
“I’m here to tell you that my friend Adam would want every single one of you to be incredibly happy and to be joyous,” he told the crowd.
The 1966-68 TV series had a low-brow comedy touch that made it far different from the darker “Batman” moves of today.
West delivered his often corny lines with deadpan earnestness, entertaining children and adding a touch of satirical humor for adults.
The series epitomized the era’s kitsch, with exclamations like “POW!” and “BAM!” written in pop-art script flashing across television screens.
The show gave rise to a movie version in 1966, in which West also starred, and fueled a franchise that included merchandise like toy Batmobiles, Batphones, dolls and lunchboxes.

Jay Z admits he cheated on Beyonce in his new album and the Beyhive drag him on Twitter

Jay Z admits he cheated on Beyonce in his new album and the Beyhive drag him on Twitter
Jay Z's new album was released in the wee hours of this morning and it is all the rave at the moment. The 4:44 album was dropped exclusively on Tidal, a music streaming service owned by Jay Z and some other music artists.

This is Jay Z's 13th studio album and it appears to be really personal just like Beyonce's Lemonade. In it, Jay Z revealed quite a lot, including admitting that he cheated on his wife, Beyonce and it affected her and their child, Blue Ivy. He said it took Blue being born for him to realize the value of his marriage.

He also rapped about that infamous elevator fight with Solange and kind of acknowledged that it had to do with him cheating. He called out his former best friend Kanye West, OJ Simpson, Rapper Future and more.

Following his revelations, the Beyhive went in on the rapper specifically because he cheated on their queen. The Beyhive aside, a lot of people have praised the album as a work of genius and one of the best in recent times.

The first song on the album is titled Kill Jay Z and it makes reference to the death of the former way of spelling his name without the dash. The new spelling will now be JAY-Z, all in capital letters and with a dash.

Calling out Kanye West in the first Song, Jay Z said: "Ye' has changed. You dropped outta school, you lost your principles. I know people backstab you, I feel bad too. But this fuck everybody attitude ain't natural. But you ain't the same, this ain't KumbaYe."

Addressing the 2014 elevator fight with his sister-in-law Solange, Jay Z confirmed in the "Kill Jay Z" track that she attacked him because he cheated on her sister and refused to acknowledge his fault.

He rapped: "You egged Solange on. Knowin' all along, all you had to say you was wrong."

Jay Z expressed remorse for cheating on Bey. In the track Family Feud, he makes reference to Becky, a name Beyonce mentioned in one of her songs, "Sorry", from the Lemonade album when she said, "better call Becky with the good hair".

Jay Z raps: "Yeah, I'll f*ck up a good thing if you let me / Let me alone, Becky / A man that don't take care his family can't be rich."

He continued in the track 4:44 "Look, I apologize, often womanize / Took for my child to be born / See through a woman's eyes / Took for these natural twins to believe in miracles / Took me too long for this song,"

"I don't deserve you, I harass you out in Paris," he added in "4:44". "Please come back to Rome, you make it home. We talked for hours when you were on tour. Please pick up the phone, pick up the phone."

The father-of-three continued to address his infidelity on the track titled  "Kill Jay Z". He said he could have lost his family from his cheating ways. He went on in the same track to shade rapper Future for letting his relationship with Ciara end.

"You almost went Eric Benét.. Let the baddest girl get away... In the FUTURE, other niggas playin' football with your son," he says making reference to Future's son with Ciara, Future Jr., whose stepfather is NFL star Russell Wilson.

He also addressed his mother's sexuality and finally acknowledged that she is a lesbian (read here)

On the track titled "Family Feud", Jay Z talks about Rev. Al Sharpton's mirror selfie that hit the internet just last week . This is an indication that the 4:44 album was only recently completed.

There are 10 tracks on the 4:44 album and they include: Kill Jay Z, The Story of O.J.,  Smile,  Caught Their Eyes,  4:44,  Family Feud,  Bam,  Moonlight,  Marcy Me,  Legacy.

Iran pledges swift aid after major quake kills 400
A picture taken on November 14, 2017 shows a view of the buildings left damaged by a 7.3-magnitude earthquake that struck two days before in the town of Sarpol-e Zahab in Iran’s western Kermanshah province near the border with Iraq, leaving hundreds killed and thousands homeless. / AFP PHOTO / ATTA KENARE
Iranian authorities scrambled on Tuesday to bring help to thousands of people left homeless by a major quake that killed more than 400 people. As the country marked a day of mourning, President Hassan Rouhani promised swift help following the 7.3-magnitude quake that struck a mountainous region spanning the Iran-Iraq border late Sunday.
Volunteers also rushed to help the displaced after thousands of homes were destroyed in the quake, which rocked a region extending across Iran’s western province of Kermanshah and neighbouring Iraqi Kurdistan.
On Tuesday afternoon, the damage was visible in the town of Sar-e Pol-e Zahab, Iran’s worst hit in the quake.
Residents helped police to evacuate an elderly man from a home at risk of imminent collapse. His face was covered in caked blood and his hand was bandaged.
Several buildings and houses lay in complete ruins, while others stood disfigured after their facades had collapsed. But other structures appeared unscathed.
A team of rescue workers with sniffer dogs combed the ruins for survivors after at least 280 people were killed in the town of some 85,000.
The town centre was clogged with traffic as people from the surrounding province rushed to help with rescue efforts. Some distributed blankets and others handed out water.
Tents, some provided by the Red Crescent, dotted green spaces turned into camps for the displaced. But some did not have shelter from the cold.
“What we need is a tent and covers to be able to get through the night,” said Shima Maryami Kiani, 24, the mother of a three-year-old.
15,500 homes destroyed
Earlier in the day, residents who had fled their homes awoke from a second night in the chilly outdoors as authorities struggled to get aid into the quake zone.
Rouhani was expected to speak with local officials to evaluate the situation, after landing by helicopter in the city of Kermanshah where he promised the government would move swiftly to help those left homeless.
“I want to assure those who are suffering that the government has begun to act with all means at its disposal and is scrambling to resolve this problem as quickly as possible,” he said.
Rouhani said all aid would be channelled through the Housing Foundation, one of the charitable trusts set up after the Islamic revolution of 1979 that are major players in the Iranian economy.
Pir Hossein Koolivand, the head of national rescue services, earlier said the priority was “to provide solutions for heating, housing and food”.
The head of the elite Revolutionary Guards, Major General Mohammad Ali Jafari, said the immediate need was for tents, water and food.
“Newly constructed buildings… held up well, but the old houses built with earth were totally destroyed,” he told state television as he visited the affected region.
As winter sets in, around 15,500 Iranian homes have been destroyed and another 15,000 damaged in the quake, according to official estimates.
Seven towns and nearly 2,000 villages were damaged, authorities said, and several villages were completely wiped from the map.
The human toll in Iran stood at 432 dead and 7,460 injured, while across the border in more sparsely populated areas of Iraq, the health ministry said eight people had died and several hundred were injured. Iraq’s Red Crescent put the toll at nine dead.
Day of mourning
On Tuesday, Iran marked a day of mourning, with a black banner adorning the corner of images of the disaster broadcast by state television to the tune of “Sad Lisa” by British singer Yusuf Islam, formerly known as Cat Stevens.
To show solidarity with the Kurdish-majority province hit by the quake, a state newspaper printed a headline in Kurdish, which read “Iran cries with Kermanshah”.
Ali Daei, a legend of Iranian football and former national team coach, launched an initiative to gather food and basic supplies.
A Tehran cinema said it would donate half of its receipts to relief efforts, and the capital’s two football teams said they were sending hundreds of tents and blankets to affected areas.
The Tabnak agency offered a little hope, with the report that a girl named Avna was born in one of the devastated region’s three hospitals.
On Monday, Iranian officials said they were setting up relief camps for the displaced and that 22,000 tents, 52,000 blankets and tonnes of food and water had been distributed.
Iran sees frequent seismic activity.
In 1990, a 7.4-magnitude quake in northern Iran killed 40,000 people, injured 300,000 and left half a million homeless, reducing dozens of towns and nearly 2,000 villages to rubble.
Thirteen years later, a catastrophic quake flattened swathes of the ancient southeastern Iranian city of Bam, killing at least 31,000.
Iran has experienced at least two major quake disasters since — one in 2005 that killed more than 600 people and another in 2012 that left some 300 dead.

EFCC OFFICERS
Several  former  high-ranking officials in the Jonathan administration have started returning looted funds, it was learnt  last night.
Besides, they are begging the Federal Government and the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) to shelve plans to put them on trial.
Four such ex-top government officials have refunded N1.4billion in the last one week alone, an authoritative source said yesterday.
This sum does not include the N7billion said to have been paid back to the AVM Jon Ode Committee which investigated about 300 companies and individuals who collected money from the Office of the National Security Adviser (ONSA)  without executing the jobs for which they were paid.
However, a few others are said to have opted to face trial instead of returning money which they claimed had been spent on  2015 presidential campaign.

Why Oba of Benin is Number One

Oba of Benin
I am a Republican, not a Royalist. But, in a country in which we have all conceded the coexistence of Republican and Royalist values, it should be considered quite unseemly to watch one set of the interacting values being rough-handled, muddied or treated with improper decorum without feeling a need to intervene on behalf of rectitude.  I have been so challenged since the eruption of the controversy ignited by the Alake of Egbaland, Oba Adedotun Gbadebo, who allowed himself to do a ranking of Yoruba Obas that placed the Oba of Benin as third in the hierarchy.  In one sense, as Chief David Edebiri, the Esogban of Benin, immediately retorted, it is wrong to rank the Oba of Benin among Yoruba Obas because the Oba of Benin is not a Yoruba and therefore cannot be placed on a list of Yoruba Obas. I call it 'in a sense' because the Esogban's position may be disputed on the grounds, as will soon be clear, that there is too much siblinghood  between Yoruba and Benin traditional rulers for the ethnic difference between them to be rendered in cast-iron terms.
