Nollywood actor Yul Edochie on Friday declared his intention to contest in the fast approaching Anambra governorship election.
Meanwhile,
leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) Nnamdi Kanu who
currently controls the majority of Igbo youths had already ordered for
boycott of the election.
In an open letter to Yul which was sent to ORIENTAL TIMES,
a Facebook user, Vincent Chidozie commended the iconic actor for his
political ambition, but also noted that the boycott order by Kanu must
be obeyed in totality to prove to the world that the people of the
Southeast are no longer part of the Nigerian federation, hence no
election in Anambra State.
Read the open letter below…
Dear Yul,
We
are pleased at your declaration for Anambra State gubernatorial sit,
and welcome such visions from young leaders of Ndi’Igbo. As a matter of
fact, that is the idea.
While I continue to commend your efforts and bravery, however, the matter is a difficult one to decide on.
The
boycott of Anambra State election is desperately needed, in a bid to
send a very powerful and important message to Nigeria and the rest of
the World that Ndi’ Igbo are no longer interested in Nigeria’s unity,
this we need to honour.
Yul
Edochie, you have disclosed intentions to contest as Anambra State
governor, Yul, you are a Honourable young man, with wealth of reputes..
you are a good head to wear the crown, I see it fitting perfectly on
you..
Despite being a celebrity, you have lived a decent and exemplary life, noble, eyes on goal, with respect for the land.
The
matter is a very difficult one. Should we honour Yul Edochie’s
aspiration or Ndi’ Igbo cum Nnamdi Kanu’s aspiration? Nnamdi Kanu is the
true voice of Ndi’ Igbo, and we must honour him.
Dear
Yul, I love the idea that you have taken this bold step, we are happy
to see a young visionary leaders like you aspiring for political
position. We believe you to be the game changer, but the decision of
Ndi’ Igbo supersedes every other concerns or Interests hence it has to
do with Ndi’ Igbo. Therefore, Yul, I think your aspiration for 2017
Anambra Guber sit is premature and we will thus decline!
While
I will continue to encourage you to take such bold steps in life
endeavours, I regret inform you that we will stick to the boycott.
Ndi’Igbo will not participate in elections in Anambra State.
Never
relent, my advise is that you continue to express your love and
Interest for Ndi’Igbo, and we look forward to seeing you actively
involved in the new dispensation when it comes, believe in it, it will
come, the Igbo Race Shall Rise Again.
My Sincere Regards to you and your entire household.
Thank you
WBro, Okeke Vincent Chidozie (arpa)
