The Minister of
State for Foreign Affairs, Ibe Kachikwu has revealed that he recently
received a threat from an unknown Niger Delta militant.
According to Vanguard, Kachikwu made the assertion on Tuesday, May 10, 2016 when he spoke at the Federal Governent town hall meeting in Kaduna.
Speaking further, Kachikwu described the
renewed attacks on oil installation by the Niger-Delta Avengers as a
drain on the country’s resources, assuring that Federal Government was
on top of the situation.
In a related development, a Niger Delta
militant who spoke to Vanguard on the condition of anonymity has accused
surveillance contractors of being behind the recent spate of bombings
in the region.
According to the activist, some leaders
of the affected communities know the people carrying out the bombings,
but were afraid to speak out because of the repercussion.
