Still sticking with their renewed vow to
cripple oil and gas-related activities in the region, Niger Delta
militants on Saturday shifted their focus to oil-rich Bayelsa State,
bombing two facilities belonging to Nigerian Agip Oil Company and Aiteo.
THISDAY learnt that the attack which
happened earlier today was massive as the facility affected has the
capacity to produce over 600,000 barrels per day. The Niger Delta
Avengers, NDA, the new face of militancy in the region, has claimed
responsibility for the bombing.
The Bayelsa state government as well as
the commandant of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC),
Desmond Agu have confirmed the incident.
