The People’s
Democratic Party (PDP) in South Eastern Nigeria has vowed to capture the
South Eastern states currently in APC and All Progressive Grand
Alliance (APGA) in the 2019 general elections.
National Vice chairman of the party,
south east zone, Mr. Austin Umahi, on Thursday, May 19, 2016, said in
Abakaliki the Ebonyi State capital, that he had planned to reposition
the party in the south east.
He explained that the failure of the All
Progressives Congress (APC) led federal government to meet the
yearnings of Nigerians after a year in power has given leeway to the
opposition PDP to return to power in 2019.
According to Vanguard, Umahi said the
present failure of the APC is a campaign for the PDP. He said people are
already disenchanted with the APC government, adding that the true
change is coming from the PDP.
The zonal chairman who is younger
brother to Ebonyi State Governor, David Umahi, listed intra-party
politics and clashes among bigwigs in the party as major challenges
confronting the party in the south east zone.
