Man who buys old Windows laptop online for $5 gets an awesome surprise when he turns it on

A man who bought an old laptop online, not expecting it to work, was astonished at what he found when he turned it on.
The IBM Thinkpad 365XD, which originally launched in 1996, was purchased online for the princely sum of $5.

Although the computer originally shipped with Windows 95 installed, this one had been upgraded to Windows 98.
However, it wasn't until after he turned the computer on that he discovered it was loaded with an incredible Star Trek-inspired user interface called LCARS.
The interface had no mouse support, meaning he had to navigate using the F1-F12 and number keys.
He also discovered a treasure trove of Windows 98 and DOS Freeware - including classic games like PacMan, Tetris, Solitaire, Chess and Crossword.
Bizarrely, he also found a glossary of Australian slang, featuring gems like "Amber fluid: beer", "Ankle biter: small child" and "B*stard: term of endearment".
The man, who goes by the name chrisman01 , shared the story on Imgur, to the delight of geeks the world over.
