Herdsmen Attack: Anambra Begins Aerial Surveillance as Security men Patrol Agrarian Communities

To ensure maximum safety of lives and properties of Ndi Anambra, Gov Willie Obiano has announced a routine helicopter surveillance of Anambra State to ensure that any suspicious gathering of people or curious movements across the borders are quickly picked and analysed by security agencies.

This is in addition to the security agencies which are currently patrolling the borders.

Gov Obiano disclosed this during the May Day Celebration, just few days after the State held a Security Awareness Campaign to enlighten the populace.

Recall that before the growing menace of the herdsmen, Gov Obiano had set up a Special Committee to foster peace between farmers and the herdsmen.

The committee is made up of leaders of Hausa-Fulani community, government officials, the security agencies and representatives of the agrarian communities.

Gov Obiano has warned that his administration will deal ruthlessly with with anyone or group that grows "needlessly hostile" against their host communities.

Thus, do not panic when security helicopter hovers over your community.
