PARIS, MAY 3, 2016: (DGW) - FORMER militant leader Chief Government Ekpemupolo alias Tompolo has cautioned President Buhari to be wary and watchful of APC members in Delta and Bayelsa States who he describes as the president real enemies.
Tompolo who is locked in a suit with the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission charging fraud has a bench warrant issued for his arrest and has reportedly gone underground ever since.
Speaking from his hideout, according to our source, the ex-militant leader who has been linked with a new militant group Niger Delta Avengers dissociated himself from the group adding that if he had anything to do with them he would have openly declared his leadership of the group.
He advised President Muhammadu Buhari and the security agencies not to fall hook, line, and sinker for the antics of some members of the All Progressives Congress in Bayelsa and Delta States who he identified as the president's enemies.
“It is very important to let Mr President and the security agencies in the country know that some members of the ruling All Progressive Congress, APC, particularly from Bayelsa and Delta States, are not happy with him.
While speaking, he said , the APC members are doing everything possible to sabotage the president's efforts because they are not happy with him since it is almost one year now and have not gotten anything from him via appointments and contracts and fingered them as the ones carrying out nefarious activities in the oil and gas sector.
“Because they have not gotten anything from him after almost a year since he assumed office by way of appointments and contracts. Therefore, some of them are involved in nefarious activities in the oil and gas sector to be engaged in pipeline surveillance.
“I am aware of how such persons are chasing the Minister of Petroleum for State, Dr Ibe Kachikwu around. It is my humble advice to the Federal Government to investigate some of the servicing companies engaged in repairing damaged pipelines, as sabotage on their part is not ruled out,” he said.
